I was coming home from work in my 69 chevelle that I purchased a few days earlier. I decided to cruise the cliffs before heading home when my car died in the middle of the intersection in front of Trinidad motors. The car wouldn’t start back up and I was stranded in the middle of the street. Angel and a couple of the guys from Trinidad motors came running over to help push me safely to the side of the road. Angel asked me to pop the hood and immediately found the problem, a loose wiring connection. Angel and his guys then helped push my car to their shop where they fixed the loose connection and got me back on my way in 15 minutes. I offered to pay them and they said don’t worry about it. I’ve never met these gentlemen, nor have I had any service done to my vehicles by Trinidad motors prior to this. They just saw someone in need and helped out. Something rare to see in this world. Thank you again to Trinidad motors!

They helped me out of a pinch when my newly purchased older vanagon blew a hose on the freeway… I had to tow her in after hours, and they were able to fix my immediate issue in a timely manner seeing as I didn’t have an appointment. I will be bringing her back to check other issues so she’s ready for a road trip! If you have an older VW, you gotta have your go-to repair shop! Thank you for getting me back on the road!

AVOID! Let me share my experience… So I limped a ln old VW in after I got some serious engine knocking. They seemed nice and helpful at first. Told me it would be a couple weeks until they looked at it. They ended up pulling the engine and telling me I needed a new one. Which I did. So they said they had found someone to rebuild it. I paid the painful price of the rebuild and they said it would be about 4 weeks. 6 weeks later after talking with them every week, and Trinidad saying that the engine was almost done, they call me and said it hadn’t even been started. So they found a new builder. Or so they said. Another 6 weeks go by and still no engine. This continued until about the 5 month mark when they finally called and said it was ready to be picked up. It ran for 4 days. Left me stranded. And when I called Trinidad, the shop told me “Well it ran when it left here.” and that I was basically SOL. Then the lead mechanic Angel told me he wouldn’t warranty the engine because he “had proof” of me working on it. Pretty much the worst thing that can happen at a mechanic. So i finally took it to Paradise Motorsports in San Marcos, and they fixed it and got it running proper and told me the wiring was all sorts of messed up as well as the timing and had a large oil leak. If that’s not enough for you, the shop is half a block off the ocean so your car WILL rust.

By far my favorite shop in town. They have worked on my old Silverado, Acura MDX, and our gem golf cart. Most recently installed and reprogrammed a discontinued part on our Lexus that no other shop, including Lexus, would work on. Extremely talented and versatile. Absolutely recommend.

My friend recommended me here and I’m glad I went! Brian was really helpful in helping me with my car issues and patient with all my questions. A real neighborhood gem.
