Update: This place is good for head rebuild. Their services and descriptions were exact as promised in time, money and quality. Helpful during the phone call and courteous. My 4Runner v8 is running like new. Original review. I haven't been here yet. But soon, I will drop the 2 cyl. Heads at this place. I spoke on the phone with Greg. I honestly was surprised. He was very helpful and informative. Typically, I don't get so many answers to my questions from mechanics, and I understand why. But Greg was honest and answered every single question and concern. Will be passing by soon. And there will be an update after the visit.

I strongly recommend Cylinder Head Services if you need any engine work done. They are trustworthy and fair on pricing - on top of being extremely knowledgeable and experienced. If you are shopping around for machinists, just choose here and you won't regret it.

I have used Greg and the good folks at Cylinder head Services for my business and personal projects over the last 20+ years... Home project ride to Bonneville racer...if it has a piston, a crank, a valve, or a cam in it Greg can fix it or make it better! This is not a mass production shop, Greg's place is a one off master-of-trade specialty shop. If you want it right, forget the price (which is never an issue with skilled quality work), give it to Greg and he will get it done. If you need it tomorrow, maybe, but don't count on it, good work is rewarded with excess work and it takes time. But you wont be disappointed. Skilled machinists like Greg are in short supply and highly appreciated. Greg, thank you for all the great service over the years! You have been a blessing and we really appreciate you! Greg is fantastic to work with and is truly one of the last of the great machinists left in San Diego. Took my BMW M30b35 head to him for a full refresh + valve job while doing a headgasket, and he knew the ins and outs of the assembly and the tricks needed to do the job right. If you’re in San Diego and need head work done, especially classic BMW heads (M10/20/30/50) go to Greg you won’t be disappointed. He did the disassembly and reassembly and even adjusted valves and torquer everything down to spec as if it was a factory service job. Motor has been reassembled and the car is running like new. Price and quality can not be beat. Be advised, quality work takes some time. Plan for a month or so for the work to be done - can’t rush good work! 5/5 would recommend this business

Greg really knows his stuff, old and new. He has done all the machine work on two of my older British cars, and I could not be more pleased with the results. His reputation in the community is top notch, and his advice is quite valuable.
